Apple announced that it’ll start offering Retina ipadmini and the iPad Air on Japanese carrier NTT DOCOMO starting June 10. Both pills will be compatible with their nationwide Xi LTE service, as customers will be able to pre-sign up for both units starting June 2nd at regional DOCOMO retailers and the carrier’s website.
“We are extremely pleased for iPad to join iPhone on NTT DOCOMO’s circle,” said Apple’s President, Tim Cook. “The results on iPhone have already been tremendous, and we anticipate giving iPad to NTT DOCOMO customers.”
Last fall Retina ipadmini and the iPad Atmosphere were originally released in Japan and a variety of different countries. Since then, Apple has seen its share of Japan mobile phone market rise above 36%, with all the iPhone accounting for over 40% of telephone sales to the service.
